Twitter fixes a vulnerability that put 10,000 users at risk
Twitter has revealed that it has fixed a serious security vulnerability that was threatening user accounts with its password recovery system, and the latter was putting the information of about 10,000 users at risk, including email addresses, and phone numbers.
And Twitter stated in a post on its official website that it revealed the vulnerability recently, as they fixed it immediately, which led to some problems in the password recovery system for about 24 hours last week, and the company also added that this vulnerability would display the email addresses and phone numbers of users. At least about 10,000 active accounts were vulnerable to hacking and compromise.
In another context, Twitter said that it takes such dangerous security matters very seriously, and also clarified in its report that the vulnerability did not reveal passwords or information that could be used to access and hack user accounts.
It also warned its users to update their passwords and to use strong passwords of at least 10 characters consisting of uppercase and lowercase letters, symbols and numbers. It also recommends its users to use the two-step login feature.
It is also mentioned that the Twitter company suffers from some problems and difficulties, including that the growth rate of the number of its users did not witness any excess growth from last year for the first time since its launch.
