The Xiaomi Flip Phone is inspired by the design of the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Pixel 6 

It looks like Xiaomi is working on a new foldable smartphone that looks like Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 3. Meaning, it features a foldable clamshell design, which essentially makes it a modern-day flip phone.

The Chinese tech giant recently filed a patent with CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration) which gives us a look at its potential design. Looking at the images in the patent, we can see the foldable smartphone in its folded and unfolded state. It shows us that it can be quite compact when not in use. An interesting note though is the camera module. The Flip Phone features a horizontal camera module that is very similar to the Pixel 6 in terms of design.

This unit also has three cutouts for the image sensors, but one of these cutouts can be for the LED flash. The design drawings also show that the smartphone has a speaker grille at the bottom along with a SIM card tray and a USB Type-C charging port. On the right side, it houses the power button and volume buttons as well. It appears that there is no cutout in the screen itself, so it is unclear what mechanism the smartphone will use to take selfies.

Therefore, Xiaomi may use its own Camera Under Panel (CUP) technology for the front camera, which was found in the MIX Fold model.
